Hi there. If you’ve been following me on social media, you may have seen that I spent last weekend in Amsterdam attending the Meet The Blogger conference. As you can see from the photo above (showing the winners of the VT Wonen / Meet The Blogger awards), this year the theme was Create, Collaborate & Celebrate. I love that. Besides keynotes, there were several Master classes and Break-out sessions to choose from and the atmosphere was great.
It was so good meeting up with old and new friends. On Friday we took a Green Instawalk, which started at wonderful plant shop Wildernis in Amsterdam. But more on that in a next post, I took lots of photos of course. Can’t wait to share them with you.
On Saturday I arrived a bit late at the actual conference because – oh the irony – I got stuck in a courtyard garden. I was staying in a friend’s house who was out of town and it turns out courtyard gardens have locked gates at night… who knew, ha! Eventually I was rescued by a sweet girl in a pink dressing gown and matching slippers (you can’t make this stuff up). Um, yes. All glamour all the time here, people.
Here’s Holly Becker from Decor8 blog, talking about perfection. Her talk was really funny and sincere.
Igor and Judith (yes, she won an award with her own fabulous blog Joelix.com) aka Urban Jungle Bloggers talked about their UrbanJungle book.
Tom from Woonblog.be and WolfenWolkje.be talked about making the transition from blog to shop. Interesting stuff.
I also attended a Break-out session where Odet from paint brand Flexa and Souraya from Bintihome shared how to work with brands. And I forgot to take photos because I was listening so hard ;) No but really, such nice and talented people.
And last but not least, Anne de Buck from Your Little Black Book and conference presenter Kirsten Jassies from JustK sum up what its all about: FOCUS.
Oh, and be yourself. Always. Leaving you with that snippet of wisdom for now. Back soon (still SO much packing to do. We’re moving house in 1.5 weeks, eek!).
Nice to see your take on the event. And what an amazing story, being locked in a garden and rescued by Sleeping Beauty loooool. But a bummer that you arrived late ;-)
Hi! Sleeping Beauty XD Oh it was fine actually, I enjoyed the garden and didn’t arrive too late.
So nice to meet you! Your words in this post mean a lot to me, thank you!
Thank you for the inspiring keynote and for visiting!
